Public awareness meeting on conservation of mother hilsa

A public awareness meeting was held with fishermen, fishermen, storekeepers, people's representatives, political leaders and journalists of Betagi upazila to save mother hilsa. Mr. Maksudur Rahman Forkan, Chairman Upazila Parishad, Vice Chairman were present as Chief Guest. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mr. Md. Suhrid Salehin presided over the function. The program was conducted by Mr. Md. Kamal Hossain, Upazila Fisheries Officer. The fishermen were promised not to catch hilsa fish.
